The must-see monuments of Paris
Whether they are located in the heart of Paris or on the outskirts, the monuments will remain open during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games!
A word of advice: to prepare for your visit with peace of mind, consult the Practical Information pages and the Diary section of the monuments' websites.
In the heart of Paris
On the Ile de la Cité, the Sainte-Chapelle and the Conciergerie are the perfect places to watch the Olympic flame as it passes through. These two monuments will remain open for the duration of the Games, with guided or self-guided tours, and don't forget to pay your respects to the towers of Notre-Dame, which will reopen their doors in December 2024!
At the Panthéon, the exhibition on the History of Paralympism opens its doors on 11 June and, from 16 to 18 July, don't miss the show Möbius Morphosis, Rachid Ouramdane's new monumental creation produced by Chaillot - Théâtre national de la Danse.
The Hôtel de la Marine, on Place de la Concorde, is right next door to the BMX freestyle, breaking, skateboard and basketball events. From 21 June, take a look at Marjane Satrapi's tapestry and push open the doors of this iconic building. From 18th-century flats to 19th-century gilded galleries, prepare to be amazed.
Just a few metres away, climb up to the terrace of the Arc de Triomphe. Take the opportunity to linger in the museum to find out all about this not-to-be-missed landmark on the Place de l'Étoile.
Need a quiet break? The gardens of the Palais-Royal or the Hôtel de Sully are real havens of peace.
At the gateway to Paris
Not far from the Olympic Village, the Basilique cathédrale Saint-Denis opens its doors to you. Visit the necropolis of the kings of France and, from 6 April, discover the exhibition La Trêve: plunge into a dreamlike world, that of the Ancient Olympic Games, imagined by the artist Sophie Comtet Kouyaté.
Are you planning to visit the fan zone around the château de Vincennes ? Then take the opportunity to visit the exhibition À la table des mousquetaires !
Need to get away from it all? Hop on the RER A and get off at Noisiel to enjoy the peaceful grounds of the château de Champs-sur-Marne... on the opposite side of the same line, the château de Maisons is just waiting for you !
