"The apocalypse, and afterwards?" - Castle of Angers 
From 1st March to 1st June 2025

Discover how artists past and present interpret the Apocalypse, through works, casts, prints and facsimiles from the libraries of Angers, Nantes and the Catholic University of the West.

"Fous de Dymphne, astonishing stories of a Flemish painting" - Royal Monastery of Brou in Bourg-en-Bresse 
From 5 April to 22 June 2025

For the first time in France, the Royal Monastery of Brou is exhibiting a unique 15th-century altarpiece dedicated to Saint Dymphne, restored by the Phœbus Foundation, alongside video installations and audio guides retracing its history and restoration.

"Cathedral roofs" - Cloister of Fréjus Cathedral 
From 31 May to 28 September 2025

The incredible volumes of France's cathedral roofs are revealed in a series of 32 large-format prints, commissioned by the French Ministry of Culture and presented in the cloister of Fréjus Cathedral.  

"Treasures and secrets of writing. Manuscripts from the French National Library from the Middle Ages to the present day" - Cité internationale de la langue française in the Castle of Villers-Cotterêts 
From 5 November 2025 to 2 March 2026

Discover how the manuscript object has been the material support and historical witness to the evolution of the French language through a hundred exceptional documents from the BnF collections, from the 12th century to the most contemporary texts.

"The Count of Artois, prince and patron of the arts. The youth of the future Charles X" (provisional title) - Castle of Maisons 
From 14 November 2025 to 2 March 2026

Immerse yourself in the youth of the Comte d'Artois, last owner of the Castle of Maisons during the Ancien Régime and future Charles X, and explore all his facets in this exhibition highlighting his patronage and artistic legacy.

Contemporary art

"Welcome!" with the Centre national des arts plastiques - Abbeye of Mont-Saint-Michel, Castle of Cadillac, Towers of La Rochelle, Castle of Pierrefonds, Castle of Châteaudun, Hôtel de la Marine, Castle of Oiron

Heritage and contemporary art are brought together at seven French monuments through a selection of contemporary artworks from the CNAP collections, which have a special link with the history and architecture of the site where they are displayed.

"Carte blanche to Nicolas Daubanes" – Panthéon 
From 10 October 2025 to 1st February 2026

Following on from a series of residencies he has carried out across France in each of the ten "Places of national remembrance", Nicolas Daubanes brings his memories of these places to the Panthéon, in monumental compositions of great intensity.

"The gold of time" by Gabriel Léger - Villa Kérylos 
From 18 May to 21 September 2025

Gabriel Léger confronts Théodore Reinach's vision of ancient Greece, of which the villa was the most spectacular incarnation, and the malleability of time in a series of original works created especially for the site.

"Lullabies for the storm" by Laurence Aëgerter - Thoronet Abbeye 
From June to October 2025

Laurence Aëgerter invites you on an unexpected and mystical journey through her phosphorescent tapestries, audiovisual works and sound compositions in dialogue with the abbey's architecture.  

Christian Lapie - Domaine national de Saint-Cloud 
From September 2025 to August2026

Echoing the Brazilian season in France, Christian Lapie installs his monumental sculptures in the alleys of the estate to disrupt the grand perspectives designed by André Le Nôtre.

500 years of the Castle of Azay-le-Rideau 
From June 2025

Azay-le-Rideau celebrates its 500th anniversary with a rich program of events and festivities for all ages: exhibitions, theater, immersive shows, illuminations, concerts, family events, conferences and more.

10 years since the opening of the villa Cavrois 
From 13 to 14 June 2025

The Villa Cavrois is celebrating three anniversaries: 10 years since it was opened to the public following its restoration, 80 years since the death of its architect Robert Mallet-Stevens, and 100 years since the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts.

To mark the centenary of the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, masterpieces of furniture and ceramics from the 1920s and 1930s are on show at the Villa Cavrois and Eileen Gray's Villa E-1027, in partnership with Manufactures nationales - Sèvres & Mobilier national.

Other highlights in our monuments

"Monuments in (great) shape" – unprecedented 
From 8 to 11 May 2025

Combine sport and culture by taking part in sports activities offered at many monuments (multi-sport challenges, archery, bike rides, yoga...) for an original way to discover France's heritage.

"Monuments in solidarity" – unprecedented 
From 31 March to 6 April 2025

Through discovery tours, workshops and tours in easy French, as well as awareness-raising activities for professionals and volunteers, this operation aims to strengthen existing links, create new ones and encourage social inclusion by making heritage accessible to all.

"Monuments children's play" (From 18 to 19 October 2025) 
"Tales and Stories" (From 21 December 2025 to 4 January 2026)

For over 20 years, these not-to-be-missed events have been inviting young and old alike to rediscover heritage with the whole family, through fun and original activities at some 50 monuments.

And also...

Take part in national events at our monuments: Reading Nights, Rendez-vous in the garden, European Heritage Days, National Architecture Days, Spring Drawing Festival...

Throughout the year, the Centre des monuments nationaux also offers a program of live performances in its monuments.  

The Centre des monuments nationaux has teamed up with Excurio to create an immersive expedition. Starting in April, you'll be able to experience this unprecedented plunge into the city of Carcassonne at the dawn of the 14th century.

And throughout the year, you'll also be able to visit the Pantheon, Cluny Abbey, Saint-Denis Basilica and Salses Fortress, all of which have been completely redesigned.
