In 2024, the Olympic and Paralympic Torch Relay will be highlighting the beauty and diversity of our monuments and offering you some great moments of cultural discovery.
The most beautiful stages of the Olympic Torch Relay
The Games are back after a 100-year wait!
Before the opening ceremony in Paris 2024, the Olympic Torch Relay will be criss-crossing France... We reveal some of the most beautiful stages of its journey!
Lit in Olympia on 16 April 2024 in accordance with ancient tradition, the Olympic Flame is due to arrive in France on 8 May 2024, aboard the famous three-masted ship, the Belem. The château d'If, located in the harbour of Marseille, will have a front row seat!
Several monuments are preparing to welcome him into their walls: the city of Carcassonne on 16 May, the abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel on 31 May and the Cité internationale de la langue française on 17 July. And let's not forget its passage under the Arc de triomphe on 15 July, Place de l'Étoile in Paris!
It will also be passing through many of the towns and cities where our magnificent monuments stand: why not take the opportunity to visit them?
